 BILL NUMBER:  S1148

TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Little River in the Adirondack state park as an inland waterway

PURPOSE : To include the Little River in the Adirondack state park as an inland waterway.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one amends subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law designating the Little River in the Adirondack state park as an inland waterway.

Section two provides for an immediate effective date.

JUSTIFICATION : By adding the Little River in the Adirondack state park as an inland waterway, it could then be included in Local Waterfront Revitalization Program activities. This designation would greatly assist waterfront revitalization efforts in the communities surrounding these Waterways.

EFFECTIVE DATE : Immediate.

Introduced by Sen. GRIFFO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Little River in the Adirondack state park as an inland waterway THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the execu- tive law, as separately amended by chapters 103, 185, 186 and 363 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as follows: (b) the state's major rivers comprised of the Ausable, Black, Boquet, Canisteo, Chemung, Cohocton, Delaware, Deer, Genesee, Grasse, Hudson north of the federal dam at Troy, Indian, LITTLE (IN THE ADIRONDACK STATE PARK), Little Salmon (including north and south branches), Mad, Mettowee, Mohawk, Oswegatchie, Racquette, Salmon, Saranac, Susquehanna, Tioga and Tioughnioga rivers, and the north and middle branches of the Moose river; S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
