TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring every keeper of a hotel or motel or inn to make condoms available for sale to guests

PURPOSE: To prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases by requiring hotels, motels and inns to make available condoms for sale.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Adds a new section 204-b to the General Business Law for sale of condoms. Provides that owners of hotels, motels or inns shall have condoms or similar prophylactics available for sale in the registration office.

JUSTIFICATION: Over the past few years, this state has seen an enormous increase in then incidence of AIDS. Rendering laws to prevent AIDS should, therefore, be of primary concern.
