TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the state finance law, in relation to permitted uses for state aid to municipalities in which a video lottery gaming facility is located
PURPOSE: This bill relates to permitted uses for state aid to municipalities in which a video lottery gaming facility is located.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Subdivision 3 of section 54 of the finance law, as added by section 1 of part J of Chapter 57 of the laws of 2011 is amended to include funding highway repairs and transportation improvements among the approved uses of State aid from VLT revenues by eligible municipalities.
Section 2: Effective Date
JUSTIFICATION: This legislation allows funds received by municipalities through VLT revenue to be used for highway funding repairs and transportation improvements.

State aid payments made to an eligible city pursuant to para- graph a of subdivision two of this section shall be used to increase support for public schools in such city. b. State aid payments made to an eligible municipality pursuant to paragraph b of subdivision two of this section shall be used by such eligible municipality to: (i) defray local costs associated with a video lottery gaming facility
