BILL NUMBER:S2347

TITLE OF BILL:  An act to amend the tax law, in relation to extending
the authorization of the county of Chenango to impose an additional
one percent of sales and compensating use taxes

PURPOSE OF GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: This bill authorizes the County of
Chenango to extend one percent sales tax through November 30, 2015.

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: This bill extends to the County of
Chenango's current one percent sales tax for two years.

JUSTIFICATION:S: Chenango County has requested that the New York State
Legislature adopt an amendment to the Tax Law extending the
authorization to impose the additional one percent sales and
compensating use tax.

PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New bill.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None to the State.

EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the  authorization
 of the county of Chenango to impose an additional one percent of sales
 and compensating use taxes
 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1. Clause 24 of subparagraph (i) of the opening  paragraph  of
 section  1210  of  the  tax law, as amended by chapter 49 of the laws of
 2011, is amended to read as follows:

 (24) the county of Chenango is hereby further authorized and empowered
 to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions  imposing  such
 taxes  at  a  rate  which is one percent additional to the three percent
 rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for  the  period
 beginning September first, two thousand two, and ending November thirti
 eth, two thousand [thirteen] FIFTEEN;
 

S 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
