Introduced by Sen. BALL -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to authorizing the advance notification to local and state safety answering points on persons with developmental disabilities at certain locations THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 328 of the county law is amended by adding a new subdivision 11 to read as follows: 11. THE BOARD SHALL ESTABLISH AND IMPLEMENT A PROGRAM, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH AND THE COMMISSIONER OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, WHICH AUTHORIZES THE OWNER OR RESIDENT OF ANY RESIDENCE OR THE OPERATOR OF ANY FACILITY PROVIDING SERVICES TO DEVELOPMENTALLY DISA- BLED PERSONS, TO PROVIDE ANY LOCAL OR STATE SAFETY ANSWERING POINT SERV- ING SUCH RESIDENCE OR FACILITY WITH INFORMATION OF THE PRESENCE AND SPECIFIC NEED OF ANY PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES UPON THE PREMISES. ALL SUCH INFORMATION SHALL BE CONFIDENTIAL, BUT MAY BE PROVIDED TO ANY EMERGENCY PERSONNEL DISPATCHED TO SUCH RESIDENCE OR FACILITY IN RESPONSE TO AN EMERGENCY CALL. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
