BILL NUMBER:S2920 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend section 2 of chapter 314 of the laws of 2012 relating to authorizing the town of East Hampton to alienate and convey its interest in parkland, jointly owned by the towns of East Hampton and Southampton, to the town of Southampton, in relation to metes and bounds; and to repeal certain provisions of such chapter relating thereto PURPOSE: This legislation amends Chapter 314 of the Laws of 2012 which authorized the Town of East Hampton to alienate, transfer and convey its interest in the Poxabogue Golf Center, jointly owned by the towns of East Hampton and Southampton, to the town of Southampton by making the necessary revisions to accurately describe the metes and bounds of the affected property. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 2 of Chapter 314 of the Laws of 2012 is repealed and is replaced by a new Section 2 detailing the accurate description of the land comprising the Poxabogue Golf Center. JUSTIFICATION:For the past few years, the Town of East Hampton has been implementing several cost saving measures in order to return to a sound financial condition. In 2012, legislation was enacted to enable the Town of East Hampton to alienate, transfer and convey its 50% share in the Poxabogue Golf Center to the Town of Southampton (Chapter 314 of the Laws of 2012).

THE LANDS REFERRED TO IN SECTION ONE OF THIS ACT ARE DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: ALL THAT CERTAIN PLOT, PIECE OR PARCEL OF LAND, WITH THE BUILDINGS AND IMPROVEMENTS THEREON ERECTED, SITUATE LYING AND BEING AT THE VILLAGE OF SAGAPONACK IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHAMPTON, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK AND STATE OF NEW YORK, BEING BOUNDED AND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A CONCRETE MONUMENT SET AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE NORTH- ERLY SIDE OF MONTAUK HIGHWAY AND THE WESTERLY SIDE OF LAND NOW OR FORMERLY OF JOHN ANDERSON; SAID POINT ALSO BEING 405.81 FEET WESTERLY FROM THE CORNER FORMED BY THE INTERSECTION OF THE WESTERLY SIDE OF WAIN- SCOTT HARBOR ROAD AND THE NORTHERLY SIDE OF MONTAUK HIGHWAY, AS MEASURED ALONG THE NORTHERLY SIDE OF MONTAUK HIGHWAY; EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
