TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the correction law, in relation to requiring the division of criminal justice services to include information stating whether a sex offender is in violation of registration requirements
PURPOSE : Requires the Division of Criminal Justice Services to provide additional information when sex offenders are in violation of their registration requirements.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 1. Amends paragraph (c) of subdivision1 of Section 168-b of the Correction Law, to add whether the sex offender is in violation of the registration requirements.
Section 2. Effective date.
JUSTIFICATION : Provides information to victims, their families and the community as to the status of sex offender.
