BILL NUMBER:S3235 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real property, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE: To authorize Schoharie County to continue an additional mortgage recording tax of twenty five cents (250) for each one hundred dollars ($100) of mortgage value for a two year period. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: The bill amends section 1210 of the tax law to extend the authorization for Schoharie County to impose an additional mortgage recording tax of twenty five cents (250) for each one hundred dollars ($100) of mortgage value through December 1, 2017. EXISTING LAW: The current extension expires November 30, 2015. JUSTIFICATION:

SEWARD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real property, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 333 of the laws of 2006 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Schoharie to impose a county recording tax on obligation secured by a mortgage on real proper- ty, as amended by chapter 112 of the laws of 2013, is amended to read as follows: S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed on and after December 1, [2015] 2017. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
