BILL NUMBER:S3648A TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the real property tax law, in relation to increasing the maximum term for installment agreements for payment of delinquent taxes in the county of Rockland to thirty-six months; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Extends the payment terms of delinquent taxes in Rockland County to thirty-six months. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends paragraph (a) of subdivision 3 of section 1184 of the real property tax law to extend the maximum term of installment agreements to thirty-six months for Rockland County. JUSTIFICATION: This bill is introduced at the request of the Rockland County Legislature. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: 2009-2010: A.7272; held for consideration in real property taxation. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December 31, 2012 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed.

AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to increasing the
maximum term for installment agreements for payment of delinquent
taxes in the county of Rockland to thirty-six months; and providing
for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 3 of section 1184 of the real
property tax law, as amended by chapter 532 of the laws of 1994, is
amended to read as follows:
(a) the maximum term of installment agreements, which shall not exceed
twenty-four months, EXCEPT THAT IN THE COUNTY OF ROCKLAND SUCH TERM
SHALL NOT EXCEED THIRTY-SIX MONTHS;
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December
31, 2012 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed
repealed.
