AN ACT directing the office of parks, recreation and historic  preserva-
  tion to install a permanent plaque, monument or memorial commemorating
  the historic traverse of the Niagara River Gorge on a high wire by Mr.
  Nik Wallenda

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule  or  regu-
lation  to  the  contrary,  the office of parks, recreation and historic
preservation is authorized and directed to install a  permanent  plaque,
monument,  memorial or other permanent marker commemorating the historic
traverse of the Niagara River Gorge on a high wire by Mr.  Nik  Wallenda
that occurred on June 15, 2012 authorized pursuant to Chapter 572 of the
Laws  of  2011. Such plaque, monument, memorial or other marker shall be
installed at the exact location within the Niagara Falls State  Park  on
which Mr. Nik Wallenda commenced the historic walk.
  S  2. The commissioner of the office of parks, recreation and historic
preservation is authorized and directed to promulgate regulations neces-
sary to implement the provisions of this act.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
