BILL NUMBER:S3793 TITLE OF BILL: An act authorizing the town of Carlton, county of Orleans, to provide crushed stone to certain residents of the town for the maintenance of certain stone lanes PURPOSE: To ensure that certain roads in the Town of Carlton can be maintained properly to ensure the safety of emergency workers and first responders. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 Empowers the Town of Carlton, Orleans County to enact a local law to purchase and deploy crushed stone to certain stone lanes not owned by the Town. JUSTIFICATION: For many years the Town of Carlton has maintained certain stone lanes not owned by said Town, through the application of crushed stone. The Town now believes that it needs the authority from the State Legislature to enact a local law to codify what has been their past practice. This Bill will allow the Town of Carlton to pass such a law. LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: This is a new bill. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None to the State. EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT authorizing the town of Carlton, county of Orleans, to provide
crushed stone to certain residents of the town for the maintenance of
certain stone lanes
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The town of Carlton, county of Orleans, acting by and
through its town board is hereby authorized to enact a local law, allow-
ing the town of Carlton to purchase crushed stone in bulk, for use on
residential stone lanes not owned by such town.
2. Such stone shall be provided to the residents of the town of Carl-
ton owning the property on which such stone lanes are located.
3. Such stone shall be stored at predetermined storage locations. The
amount of crushed stone and the location of the storage of such stone
shall be determined by the town board of the town of Carlton.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
