BILL NUMBER:S3874 TITLE OF BILL: An act to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Greenport public school district PURPOSE: To validate shared busing transportation contracts between the Greenport public school district and private contractors for school years 2001-2004 that were disapproved by the New York State Education Department through clerical error. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This section also cures any errors or omissions made by the Greenport public school district as relates to the submission of these contracts to the New York State Education Department for approval. Section 2 states that the new York State Education Department shall treat the above mentioned transportation contracts as valid and proper obligations of the Greenport public school district. LOSQUADRO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education AN ACT to legalize, validate, ratify and confirm certain transportation contracts of the Greenport public school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Greenport public school district and by all officers, employees or agents of such school district relating to or in connection with certain transportation contracts: EO11076, EO12203, EO12208, EO12206, EO01438, EO12307 and EO11079 for the 2001-2002 school year, EO12203, EO12208 and EO11076 for the 2002-2003 school year and EO11076, EO01438, EO11079, EO12203, EO12206, EO12208, E701134 and E701135 for the 2003-2004 school year with various contrac- tors, and all acts incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure of such school district to comply with the contract award, approvals and filing provisions of the education law, general municipal law or any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regulation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceeding had and taken, and provided further that any amount due and payable to the Greenport public school district as a result of this act shall be paid pursuant to the provisions of paragraph c of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the educa- tion law.
