AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to  restrictions  on
  the  lease or sale of real property owned by the New York city housing
  authority

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  The public housing law is amended by adding a new section
402-c to read as follows:
  S 402-C. CONVEYANCE OF PUBLIC HOUSING  LANDS;  RESTRICTIONS.  THE  NEW
YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY SHALL BE PROHIBITED FROM SELLING, LEASING OR
TRANSFERRING  ANY RECREATIONAL SPACE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PLAY-
GROUNDS, BASKETBALL COURTS, BASEBALL FIELDS, AND FACILITIES  FOR  RECRE-
ATIONAL USE, AS USED AND MAINTAINED BY THE NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHOR-
ITY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
