BILL NUMBER:S4404 TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory to the town of Riverhead, county of Suffolk PURPOSE: To direct the Commissioner of General Services to transfer approximately 5.7 acres of the former NYS Armory to the Town of Riverhead to enhance public safety and afford the Town an opportunity to continue and improve the recreational youth programs hosted at the former NYS Armory site. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 authorizes the commissioner of General Services to convey a 5.7 acre parcel to the Town of Riverhead. Section 2 gives a description of the property. Section 3 requires an application within one year of the act. Section 4 provides that the property shall be used as a police department, justice court and for public safety programs and

LOSQUADRO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory to the town of Riverhead, county of Suffolk THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act but notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of general services is hereby authorized to transfer and convey to the town of Riverhead in consideration of one dollar and upon such other conditions as the commissioner may deem proper, approximately 5.7 acres of land formerly used as an armory, and further described in section two of this act. S 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred and conveyed are as follows: All that certain piece or parcel of land, situate in the Town of Riverhead, County of Suffolk, State of New York, being more particularly bound and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Old Country Road (County Road No. 58), which point is distant 51.15 feet on a curve to the left with a radius of 2897.93 feet measured along the southerly line of Old Country Road (County Road No. 58) from a concrete monument set in the southerly line of Old Country Road (County Road No. 58) at the northeast corner of lands of Harry Wivczar and the northeast corner of lands of the Riverhead Water District; running thence from said point of begin- ning on a curve to the left with a radius of 2897.93 feet along the southerly line of Old Country Road (County Road No. 58) a distance of EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
