TITLE OF BILL:
An act
to direct the New York state office of real property services to create
a computer program that is accessible to the public

PURPOSE:
This bill would direct the New York State office of real property
services to provide certain tax data via a user friendly computer
program.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section-1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
the New York State office of real property services is hereby
directed to change the current computer program so that citizens of
this state can access certain tax data, including but not limited to,
the RPSv4 computer program.

JUSTIFICATION:
New York State citizens deserve the right to access certain tax data
easily and quickly. The current computer system utilized by the New
York State office of real property services does not provide a user
friendly computer program from which citizens can obtain personal tax
information. In order to provide the citizens of this state the open
access to important tax data, the New York State office of real
property services is entitled to develop a more user friendly
computer program.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

 AN  ACT  to direct the New York state department of taxation and finance
 to create a computer program that is accessible to the public
 THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
 the New York state department of taxation and finance is hereby directed
 to  change  the  current computer program so that citizens of this state
 can access certain tax data, including but not  limited  to,  the  RPSv4
 computer program.
 

S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
