BILL NUMBER:S4784 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the expiration of provisions authorizing the county of Cattaraugus to impose an additional one percent of sales and compensating use taxes PURPOSE: This bill will authorize the County of Cattaraugus to extend the use of an additional 1% sales and compensating use tax until November 30, 2013. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: New York State Tax Law is amended to authorize the County of Cattaraugus to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing such taxes at a rate which is one percent additional to the three percent rate authorized in the New York State Tax Law for the period beginning March 1, 1986 and ending November 30, 2013. JUSTIFICATION: The Cattaraugus County Legislature, by Resolution Act Number 163-2011, adopted on April 14, 2011, has requested legislation to be introduced in the State Legislature to grant Cattaraugus County the ability to extend the use of an additional 1% sales and compensating use tax

YOUNG -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern- ment Operations AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to extending the expiration of provisions authorizing the county of Cattaraugus to impose an addi- tional one percent of sales and compensating use taxes THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Clause 5 of subparagraph (i) of the opening paragraph of section 1210 of the tax law, as amended by chapter 97 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as follows: (5) the county of Cattaraugus is hereby further authorized and empowered to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances or resolutions imposing such taxes at a rate which is one percent additional to the three percent rate authorized above in this paragraph for such county for the period beginning March first, nineteen hundred eighty-six and ending November thirtieth, two thousand [eleven] THIRTEEN; S 2.
