BILL NUMBER:S5075 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 368 of the laws of 2008 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Warren to impose an additional mortgage recording tax, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To extend the authorization for Warren County to impose an additional mortgage tax from December 1, 2011 to December 1, 2014. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: amends section 2 of chapter 368 of the laws of 2008 to extend the expiration date of mortgage recording tax imposition by Warren County to December 1, 2014. JUSTIFICATION: The Warren County Board of Supervisors has requested the introduction of legislation extending their authority to impose an additional mortgage recording tax to December 1, 2014. SAYWARD -- read once and referred to the Committee on Ways and Means AN ACT to amend chapter 368 of the laws of 2008 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Warren to impose an additional mortgage recording tax, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 368 of the laws of 2008 amending the tax law relating to authorizing the county of Warren to impose an addi- tional mortgage recording tax, is amended to read as follows: S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed December 1, [2011] 2014. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
