BILL NUMBER:S5149 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 378 of the laws of 2010 amending the education law relating to paperwork reduction, in relation to extending the provisions thereof PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: The purpose of this bill is to continue to authorize the formation of a regional transportation pilot project to be conducted by the commissioner of education. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: Section 1 of the bill extends section 10 of chapter 378 of 2010 to 2020. JUSTIFICATION: This extender would continue to provide the commissioner the authority to continue to conduct regional transportation pilots to study the impact of regional transportation systems on local and state costs. PRIOR LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New bill FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately; provided that section 10 of this act shall be deemed repealed on June 30, 2020.

FLANAGAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend chapter 378 of the laws of 2010 amending the education law relating to paperwork reduction, in relation to extending the provisions thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 11 of chapter 378 of the laws of 2010 amending the education law relating to paperwork reduction, is amended to read as follows: S 11. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that the commissioner of education shall promulgate any rules or regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this act on or before July 1, 2010; provided, further that if section ten of this act shall take effect after July 1, 2010 it shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after July 1, 2010; and provided further that section ten of this act shall expire and be deemed repealed on June 30, [2015] 2020. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10800-01-5
