TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to authorizing the dormitory authority to construct and finance certain facilities of Xavier High School in New York City
PURPOSE: Allow for the refinancing and/or financing by the New York State Dormitory Authority of projects associated with Xavier High School in New York City
JUSTIFICATION: This legislation would allow Xavier High School, located at 30 West 16th Street, to be added to the list of eligible institutions for which the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York may, at the Authority's discretion, issue tax-exempt bonds for construction.

Paragraph (b) of subdivision 2 of section 1676 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new undesignated paragraph to read as follows: XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL, FOR THE FINANCING OR REFINANCING, OR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE COSTS OF THE AQUISITION, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, REHABILITATION, IMPROVEMENT, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING OF, OR OTHERWISE PROVIDING FOR, XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL AT ITS FACILITY LOCATED AT 30 WEST 16TH STREET IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK, TO SERVE AS A SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES NINE THROUGH TWELVE; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT THE AGGREGATE SUM OF ANY BONDS ISSUED FOR SUCH PURPOSE SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE MILLION DOLLARS. S 2. Subdivision 1 of section 1680 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new undesignated paragraph to read as follows: XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL, FOR THE FINANCING OR REFINANCING, OR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE COSTS OF THE AQUISITION, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, RECONSTRUCTION, REHABILITATION, IMPROVEMENT, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING OF, OR OTHERWISE PROVIDING FOR, XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL AT ITS FACILITY LOCATED AT 30 WEST 16TH STREET IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK, TO SERVE AS A SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES NINE THROUGH TWELVE; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT THE AGGREGATE SUM OF ANY BONDS ISSUED FOR SUCH PURPOSE SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE MILLION DOLLARS.
