BILL NUMBER:S5855 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to big game hunting in the county of Livingston PURPOSE: This bill authorizes hunting of big game with rifles in the county of Livingston. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section (1) amends item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 110907 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by chapter 231 of the laws of 2012, to add Livingston county to the list of counties that are authorized to hunt big game with rifles. Section (2) amends item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 110907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by chapter. 441 of the laws of 2009 and chapter 231 of the laws of 2012, to add Livingston county to the list of counties that are authorized to hunt big game with rifles. Item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by chapter 231 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: (i) The counties of Deer, the first Monday Pistol, shotgun, Allegany, Cattaraugus, after November 15 muzzle loading Cayuga, Chautauqua through first Tuesday firearm, rifle or except that portion after December 7 long bow only of the county north of route 20, Chemung, Chenango, Herkimer, LIVINGSTON, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Wyoming and Yates and that portion of the county of Broome east of the Susquehanna river S 2. Item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by chapter 441 EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. Section 2 amends item (i) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by chapters 111 and 155 of the laws of 2013, to add Livingston county to the list of counties that are authorized to hunt big game with rifles. Section 3 Provides the effective date. JUSTIFICATION: This bill was requested by the Livingston County Board of Supervisors in resolution number 2013-203.

Section 2 amends item (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as separately amended by section 14 of chapter 55 of the laws of 2014, to add Livingston county to the list of counties that are authorized to hunt big game with rifles. Section 3 Provides the effective date.

Item (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as amended by section 14 of part EE of chapter 55 of the laws of 2014, is amended to read as follows: (f) Southern tier, Deer, first Pistol, shotgun, central and Western Monday after November crossbow, region, except those 15 through first muzzle loading counties or portions Tuesday after firearm or thereof listed in December 7 long bow only EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
