TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the state law, in relation to naming the wood frog the official amphibian of the state of New York
PURPOSE: This bill would officially name the wood frog the amphibian of the State of New York.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 - Amends the State law by adding a new section 89.
Section 2 -- Effective Date
JUSTIFICATION: Various species have been adopted as the New York State symbol in many different categories, however, New York does not yet have a state amphibian. This bill would identify the wood frog as the NYS amphibian.
