SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Authorizes the reestablishment of the Middletown community development agency. Section 2. Effective Date. JUSTIFICATION: This legislation is introduced at the request of the City of Middletown. LEGISLATIVE HISTORY: New Bill. FISCAL IMPLICATIONS: None. EFFECTIVE DATE: This act shall take effect immediately.

Introduced by Sen. BONACIC -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to authorize the reestablishment of the Middletown community development agency THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivi sion 1 of section 856 of the general municipal law or any other provision of law to the contrary, the Middletown community development agency, created by section 601-a of the general municipal law, shall be deemed reestablished upon the filing by the governing body of the muni cipality for whose benefit such agency is reestablished the certificate required by paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 856 of the general municipal law and shall continue in existence until termination and dissolution pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of such section; provided that, for purposes of paragraphs (a) and (b) of subdivision 1 of such section, the special act of the legislature referenced in such paragraphs shall be deemed to refer to this act.
