TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Chateaugay lake as an inland waterway for purposes of waterfront revitalization

PURPOSE:

This bill adds Chateaugay Lake to the definition of "inland waterways" for purposes of waterfront revitalization.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section 1 -amends paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law to add Chateaugay Lake to the definition of "inland waterways."

Section 2- contains the effective date.

JUSTIFICATION:

This bill originated as a local request to add Chateaugay Lake to the definition of "inland waterways" to permit the communities in the area to apply for grants under the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and would allow for further competitiveness.

LITTLE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to designating the Chateaugay lake as an inland waterway for purposes of waterfront revi- talization THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the execu- tive law, as separately amended by chapters 133 and 147 of the laws of 2012, is amended to read as follows: (a) the state's major inland lakes consisting of lakes Big Tupper, Black, Canadarago, Canandaigua, Cayuga, Champlain, CHATEAUGAY, Chautau- qua, Conesus, Cranberry, George, Great Sacandaga, Honoeye, Indian, Keuka, Long, Mirror, Oneida, Onondaga, Otisco, Otsego, Owasco, Placid, Raquette, Ronkonkoma, Sacandaga, Saratoga, Schroon, Seneca, Skaneateles, Silver (in the county of Wyoming) and Saranac, and the Fulton chain of lakes; S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
