BILL NUMBER:S7592 TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public health law, in relation to adding home care representation to the workgroup on state health information technology infrastructure PURPOSE: To add home care representation to the newly convening workgroup on state health information technology infrastructure. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section one adds home care agency representation to the workgroup on state health information technology infrastructure. Section two establishes an immediate effective date for the bill. JUSTIFICATION: Fully functional and interoperable health information technology is vital to the state's and health care sector's efforts to promote reform, collaboration and integration of health care system. Collaborating partners, including hospitals, physicians, home care, and others, must have technology platforms that are adequately in place, compatible and geared to both clinical and operational

HANNON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to adding home care representation to the workgroup on state health information technology infrastructure THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subdivision 18-a of section 206 of the public health law, as added by section 16 of part A of chapter 60 of the laws of 2014, is amended to read as follows: (c) The members of the workgroup shall include, at a minimum, three members who represent RHIOs, two members employed by the department who are involved in the development of the SHIN-NY and the APD, two members who represent physicians, two members who represent hospitals, TWO MEMBERS WHO REPRESENT HOME CARE AGENCIES, one member who represents federally qualified health centers, the chair of the senate health committee or his or her designee, the chair of the assembly health committee or his or her designee, and other individuals with expertise in matters relevant to the charge of the workgroup.
