BILL NUMBER:S7621 TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory to the city of Rome, county of Oneida PURPOSE: To direct the Commissioner of General Services to transfer a former NYS Armory to the City of Rome to be used for various municipal uses by the City. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 authorizes the commissioner of General Services to convey a former NYS Armory to the City of Rome. Section 2 provides a description of the property. Section 3 requires an application within one year of the act. Section 4 provides that the property shall be used as a recreation, electrical and parks department. Upon termination of said use, the land shall revert to the State. Section 5 provides for an immediate effective date.

GRIFFO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT in relation to the conveyance of land formerly used as an armory to the city of Rome, county of Oneida THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subject to the provisions of this act but notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the commissioner of general services is hereby authorized to transfer and convey to the city of Rome in consideration of one dollar and upon such other conditions as the commissioner may deem proper land formerly used as an armory and further described in section two of this act. S 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred and conveyed are as follows: ALL that certain tract, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the City of Rome, County of Oneida, State of New York, bounded and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the easterly side of Black River Boulevard, said point being 154 feet northerly measured along the east side of said Black River Boulevard from the northerly side of East Locust Street; running thence North 26° 13' East 123.19 feet to a point and North 27°22'20" East 166.81 feet along the said easterly side of said Black River Boulevard to a point on the southerly side of a 10 foot strip of land bounding on the south the southerly line of a Map of Section 3 John C. Lynch Sub-division east of Black River Boulevard, Rome, New York, made for Oneida Homes Inc., June 11, 1943, by Merritt & LaBella, Profes- sional Engineers and Surveyors, filed in the Oneida County Clerk's Office; thence South 62°47' East 677.00 feet along the southerly side of said 10 feet strip to an iron pin in the westerly line of land shown on Map of Section 4, John C. Lynch Sub-division east of Black River Boule- vard, Rome, New York, made for Jess- Well Homes, Inc. by Merritt & LaBella, Professional Engineers and Surveyors, dated August 10, 1943, and filed in the aforementioned County Clerk's Office; thence South 27°20' West 288 feet along the said westerly line of said land shown EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
