AN ACT in relation to extending the deadline by which an eligible  muni-
  cipality  may  exercise the provisions of the Superstorm Sandy assess-
  ment relief act

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter or any other
law to the contrary, the town of Smithtown may exercise  the  provisions
of  the  superstorm sandy assessment relief act if its town board shall,
by the three hundred sixty-fifth day  following  October  twenty-second,
two  thousand thirteen, pass a local law adopting the provisions of this
act.  The town of Smithtown may provide assessment relief for real prop-
erty impacted by Superstorm Sandy located within the town  of  Smithtown
as  provided  in  paragraphs (i), (ii), (iii) and/or (iv) of subdivision
(a) of section four of the superstorm sandy assessment relief  act  only
if its town board specifically elects to do so as part of such local law
or resolution.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT in relation to extending the deadline by which an eligible  muni-
  cipality  may  exercise the provisions of the Superstorm Sandy assess-
  ment relief act

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding any provisions of chapter 424 of the laws
of 2013 to the contrary, any school district within the town  of  Smith-
town  may  exercise  the  provision  of  the Superstorm Sandy assessment
relief act, within one year of this act being adopted into law, upon the
passage of a resolution adopting  the  provisions  thereof.  Any  school
district  within the town of Smithtown may provide assessment relief for
real property impacted by Superstorm Sandy located within  the  district
in  accordance  with paragraphs (i), (ii), (iii) and/or (iv) of subdivi-
sion (a) of section four of the Superstorm Sandy assessment  relief  act
only after passage of a resolution electing to do so.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
