S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 10605 I N A S S E M B L Y June 7, 2012 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Weprin) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT directing the metropolitan transportation authority to rename a certain subway station THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Briarwood-Van Wyck subway station on the IND Queens Boulevard line of the New York city subway is hereby named the Briarwood station. The MTA shall ensure that all signs, maps, and any other item issued by the MTA are updated to accurately reflect the new name of the station. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that the MTA shall have up to 180 days to change all signs, maps, and other items as required in section one of this act. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD16031-01-2
