GLICK, LUPARDO, MILLMAN, JAFFEE, PHEFFER, ZEBROW- SKI -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. FARRELL, MAGEE, SWEENEY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to a change in circum- stance of income and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 663 of the education law is amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: (C) WHEN MAKING ADJUSTMENTS TO INCOME FOR CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCE, THE CORPORATION SHALL, PURSUANT TO RULES AND REGULATIONS, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AS CAUSES FOR CHANGE IN STATUS OF THE APPLICANT: (I) CATASTROPHIC ILLNESS OF THE APPLICANT; AND (II) THE APPLICANT OR THE SPOUSE OF THE APPLICANT BEING CALLED TO ACTIVE MILITARY DUTY. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed June 30, 2012.
