S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 3766 2011-2012 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y January 27, 2011 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. ENGLEBRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring commercial motor vehicles to display the name, address and telephone number of the operator of such vehicle THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new section 509-z to read as follows: S 509-Z. DISPLAY OF COMMERCIAL MOTOR CARRIER INFORMATION. THE NAME, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER OF A COMMERCIAL MOTOR CARRIER SHALL BE PRINTED ON BOTH SIDES OF EACH COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATED IN THIS STATE. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION. S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law; provided that any rules and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of this act on its effective date are authorized and directed to be promulgated on or before such date.
