COLTON, HOOPER, MAGEE, REILLY, SCHROE- DER, TOWNS, WEISENBERG -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to reimbursement of certain volunteer firefighters for emergency medical technician training THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new section 206-c to read as follows: S 206-C. REIMBURSEMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN TRAINING FOR CERTAIN FIREFIGHTERS. UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE NEW YORK STATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL, AS DEFINED IN SECTION THREE THOUSAND TWO OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW, A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER WHO IS NOT A CERTIFIED FIRST RESPONDER MAY RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE NEW YORK STATE EMER- GENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TRAINING ACCOUNT, ESTABLISHED IN SECTION NINETY- SEVEN-Q OF THE STATE FINANCE LAW, UPON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN APPROVED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN TRAINING COURSE.
