BRENNAN -- (at request of the Metropolitan Trans- portation Authority) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to procurements by the New York city transit authority and the metropolitan transpor- tation authority THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 1209 of the public authorities law, as amended by chapter 135 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as follows: 6. The provisions of subdivisions one, two, three and four of this section shall not be applicable to any procurement by the authority commenced during the period from the effective date of this subdivision until December thirty-first, nineteen hundred ninety-one or during the period from December sixteenth, nineteen hundred ninety-three until June thirtieth, two thousand [eleven] FIFTEEN; and the provisions of subdivi- sions seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve and thirteen of this section shall only apply to procurements by the authority commenced during such periods. The provisions of such subdivisions one, two, three and four shall apply to procurements by the authority commenced during the period from December thirty-first, nineteen hundred ninety-one until December sixteenth, nineteen hundred ninety-three, and to procurements by the authority commenced on and after July first, two thousand [elev- en] FIFTEEN. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the provisions of such subdivisions one, two, three and four shall apply to (i) the award of any contract of the authority if the bid documents for such contract so provide and such bid documents are issued within sixty days of the effective date of this subdivision or within sixty days of December sixteenth, nineteen hundred ninety-three, or (ii) for a period of one hundred eighty days after the effective date of this subdivision, or for EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
