AN ACT in relation to term of service of  trustee-elects  of  the  Mount
  Vernon board of education during the 2011 and 2012 elections

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general,  special  or
local  law  to  the contrary, for the annual budget vote and election of
the Mount Vernon board of education to be held in May 2011 during  which
four  trustee seats are to be elected, the trustee-elect who obtains the
fourth-highest vote total shall be appointed to  serve  a  term  of  two
years. For the annual budget vote and election of the Mount Vernon board
of  education to be held in May 2012 during which four trustee seats are
to be elected, the trustee-elect who  obtains  the  fourth-highest  vote
total shall be appointed to serve a term of one year.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
