BILL NUMBER:S3559 TITLE OF BILL: REVISED 12/30/11 An act to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a home visitation program for elderly and invalid victims of violent crime PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: To create a volunteer program of home visitation to elderly and invalid victims of violent crime, in consultation with the NYS Office for the Aging. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1: Amends subdivision 9 of section 623 of the Executive Law. Provides that the New York State Office for the Aging shall be consulted in order to promote the establishment of a volunteer program of home visitation to elderly and invalid victims of violent crime. DIAZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the establishment of a home visitation program for elderly and invalid victims of violent crime THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 9 of section 623 of the executive law, as amended by section 8 of part A-1 of chapter 56 of the laws of 2010, is amended to read as follows: 9. To establish and maintain a special investigative unit to expedite processing of claims by senior citizens and special emergency situ- ations, and to promote, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE OFFICE FOR THE AGING, the establishment of a volunteer program of home visitation to elderly and invalid victims of violent crime.
