AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to school safety plans

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 2801-a of  the  education  law  is
amended by adding a new paragraph b-1 to read as follows:
  B-1.  POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR RESPONDING TO A STUDENT'S IMPLIED OR
DIRECT INTENTION TO COMMIT SUICIDE;
  S 2. Paragraphs f, g, h, i, j and k of subdivision 2 of section 2801-a
of the education law are relettered paragraphs g, h, i, j, k and l and a
new paragraph f is added to read as follows:
  F. POLICIES  AND  PROCEDURES  FOR  CONTACTING  PARENTS,  GUARDIANS  OR
PERSONS IN PARENTAL RELATION TO A STUDENT OF THE DISTRICT THAT INDICATES
AN IMPLIED OR DIRECT INTENTION TO COMMIT SUICIDE;
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

                      [ ] is old law to be omitted.
