KATZ -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. BLANKEN- BUSH, CROUCH, DiPIETRO, FINCH, HAWLEY, LALOR, SALADINO, STEC, TENNEY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to admission of students to the state university and city university of New York THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph h of subdivision 2 of section 355 of the educa- tion law is amended by adding a new subparagraph 10 to read as follows: (10) NO PERSON SHALL BE ACCEPTED OR ADMITTED AS A STUDENT UNLESS HE OR SHE IS EITHER A CITIZEN OF OR LEGALLY ADMITTED TO THE UNITED STATES. S 2. Subdivision 2 of section 6206 of the education law is amended by adding a new paragraph e to read as follows: E. NO PERSON SHALL BE ACCEPTED OR ADMITTED AS A STUDENT UNLESS HE OR SHE IS EITHER A CITIZEN OF OR LEGALLY ADMITTED TO THE UNITED STATES. S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
