Authorizes the court to make an order of support in assistance or as a condition of any other order made in a child protective proceeding directing that a person who is liable to pay support pursuant to the provisions of article four of the family court act and who is a party to the proceeding, contribute to the support of the child or the spouse without the need for further proceedings.

COOK -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the family court act, in relation to child support in child protective proceedings THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The family court act is amended by adding a new section 1058-a to read as follows: S 1058-A. ORDER OF SUPPORT. THE COURT MAY MAKE AN ORDER OF SUPPORT IN ASSISTANCE OR AS A CONDITION OF ANY OTHER ORDER MADE UNDER THIS PART DIRECTING THAT A PERSON WHO IS LIABLE TO PAY SUPPORT PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE FOUR OF THIS ACT, AND WHO IS A PARTY TO THE PROCEEDING, CONTRIBUTE TO THE SUPPORT OF THE CHILD OR THE SPOUSE. AN ORDER OF SUPPORT PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION SHALL BE ENFORCEABLE AS ANY ORDER OF SUPPORT MADE UNDER ARTICLE FOUR OF THIS ACT. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
