 AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in  relation  to  authorizing
   certain  taxing jurisdictions to permit individuals to have real prop-
   erty taxes automatically deducted from such individual's bank accounts

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  real  property  tax  law  is amended by adding a new
 section 925-e to read as follows:
   § 925-E. PAYMENT OF REAL PROPERTY TAXES  THROUGH  AUTOMATIC  DEDUCTION
 FROM BANK ACCOUNTS. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY CONTRARY PROVISION OF THIS CHAP-
 TER,  OR  OF  ANY  GENERAL,  SPECIAL  OR LOCAL LAW, CODE OR CHARTER, ANY
 TAXING JURISDICTION WHICH HAS THE AUTHORITY TO IMPOSE AND COLLECT TAXES,
 SHALL HAVE THE OPTION TO AUTHORIZE INDIVIDUALS  TO  HAVE  REAL  PROPERTY
 TAXES AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED FROM SUCH INDIVIDUAL'S BANK ACCOUNTS.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
 it shall have become a law; provided, however, that effective immediate-
 ly,  the  addition,  amendment  and/or  repeal of any rule or regulation
 necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective  date  are
 authorized  and  directed  to  be  made  and completed on or before such
 effective date.
