BILL S2245-2011: Creates a veterans long term health care authority and prescribes its powers and duties
Creates a veterans long term health care authority for the purpose of enhancing health related services to veterans; provides that such authority shall construct and operate high quality patient care delivery to the state's veterans, respond quickly to changes in the health care environment, react immediately to any and all operational and physical problems, use, to the maximum extent, federal funds and capital grant funds from the veteran's administration state home program which will be used for construction and renovations of facilities, provide for the education of physicians and other health care professionals in gerontology, provide for an evaluation into resource allocation and patient care, establish high quality care standards, promote, among the residents of the veterans nursing home, high self-esteem, dignity and a quality of life, establish a supportive working environment for the direct care staff, and provide the highest level of care at the lowest possible cost. /
