TITLE OF BILL: An act in relation to the dissolution of the Oswego City Library and the redistribution of any funds and/or assets held by such library
PURPOSE: To the official dissolution of the Oswego City Library.
SUMMARY: Section 1 provides for the dissolution of the Oswego City Library and the transfer of assets, holdings, and belongings to the Oswego School District Public Library.
Section 2 provides this act shall take effect immediately.
JUSTIFICATION: On April 15, 1854, the Oswego City Library was created by an official act of this legislature.
On April 4, 2000, the Oswego School District Public Library received an absolute charter of the Oswego City Library and has been running the city library system since then.
It is required by law to dissolve the Oswego City Library through an official act of the legislature and appropriate to transfer the assets, holdings, and belongings to the Oswego School District Public Library.

The Oswego City Library and its incorporated trustees, created on April 15, 1854 is hereby dissolved and all assets, holdings, and belongings owned in whole or in part by the Oswego City Library shall be transferred to the Oswego School District Public Library, a public school district library granted an absolute charter in the first instance by the New York State Board of Regents on April 4, 2000.
